This is ambitious, I wouldn’t even know where to start, awesome that you put this together, really like that part starting at 1:52.
This is a really good start, I like the use of ostinati through out. I also think the linear melodies are working pretty well. I would recommend taking some of the melodic lines you have (like the violin at (2:25) and practice creating vertical harmonies, then fleshing those out with other instruments. Guy Michelmore
has a pretty good video on Tunes vs Chords that touches on what I mean. I think this piece has a number of really great ideas in it, and if you pick two or maybe three, and then take a few bars to develop those, and build harmonic transitions between them, and just go back and forth, with more development each time, you would have a really strong piece. But again, if this is your first try at orchestral music you are off to a VERY promising start... too many ideas is like the best possible "issue" to have.
Oh nice! What was your approach to do that? How did that change your workflow, compared with your usual tracks?
