A Cacophony of Meaningless Garble

Um...yeah, so I have this champ amp thing from end of year 12 attempts at circuitry/being cool. There was some radio interference on the thing, which freaked me out. (didn't know that shit went down)... so I that's what's used.

This extremely simple setup was:

Broken champ amp > piezo > wine glass [with a] singing bowl [sitting on it] > piezo 2 > Live.

The second piezo that recorded the sound wasn't the most useful thing, so I had to record what I heard as well...cause the singing bowl resonated with the thingo, and it was awesome. (what I was hearing). the piezo recording is in the piece still, pretty unedited.

Although this track is rather cheesy, lame, and of no consequence, for some reason I think it's a good adaptation of the past week of my brain. Which I guess is what WB I think will do; being a diary of my personality, ideas, skills etc. and their evolution over a year. ( I sound like a douche, sorry)

only regret of this week mainly would be not having played around with the actual setup more. That way I could have simply recorded a portion of the event, and somehow used that as a piece...in a kind of a live performance whatever thing... Maybe it's good that I didn't do that, and it will stay a regret forever.

Little-scale's ClusterChop max4live device was used...rather extensively at points....though it's not used well.

This is a thank you to AT for being one of the most inspirational teachers I've ever had... and exposing me to a lot of Ravel, which I attempted, and failed to incorporate into this piece.

Really enjoyed this - loved the reverb tail at the end as well - but I feel that it is missing something in the low end, which could have been fixed by moving some of the higher stuff down by a bit. Also, what I love about the piezo --> singing bowl stuff (when I have heard it in person) is the way that it sounds in a nice room, so if you ever do it again, perhaps consider capturing using both a piezo and a room mic with a bit of distance. Or maybe it's just me. Just a thought! smile

This is beautiful. I really dig the system of creation too, and the captured sounds are beautiful. Well done!

Thanks Seb! I'm not really happy with most of the track atm, except for maybe the ending.
Completely agree with you on the room mic stuff, unfortunately, that wasn't possible when/where I made the track. Hopefully another one will be accomodating of these things. and thanks for the constructive crit! Much appreciated!

And thans vinpous
