You Got Me Phreaking

By Ipaghost on January 16, 2022 10:42 pm

Just a bit of Telefauxny! I always wanted to know more about how the phone system and Phreaking worked, so I decided to build my own system!
North American Dual Tone Multi Frequencies are generated using a Sytrus instance, the audio is then decoded and reproduced  in the effects channel using a encoder/decoder made in Patcher in real-time. Use the encoder/decoder to generate your own tones (they really work!) or to find out what other tones represent! For example, I believe Kraftwerk's phone number is 265-3854. Also included are the Red and Blue Phone Phreaking boxes. These are no longer useful in modern phone systems, but they were easy to make.
Download the 337KB flstudio project here!
TTS: Google, Siri

Telefone 4 on the floor:) it sounds great.

So goooooood!!!! Bangeer

Your tracks (this one included) really tend to blow me away. They're so conceptually sound and super fun to listen to!

cool chords and interesting idea bro

phr3aky! but for real, so fun and fuzzy. and that patcher, yowzah!! so cool!

Would be an insanely good opener / closer for a live set, great work.

Killer tune, and such a fun idea to kick it off.

This is super phreaky dude!!! Love the arps and the sound design in this. Wonderful work :-)

Thanks to the decoder, I now know that number is 835244731! Pretty insignificant number as far as Phreaking goes though.

Haha this is nuts dude.  Love it.  Have no idea what any of it means, but I love it.

It means you can play your synthesizer from your touch-tone phone!

Brilliant. I like 3:00-3:13 the best. The rest is pretty phreaking, too.

Very nice dream pop!
I am fluffy and flying.

I was interested in Phreaking, so I looked it up.
I once saw a scene in a movie where a man was praised for making free phone calls by blowing a whistle into a telephone.
I didn't understand what it meant at the time, but now I do.
Very interesting hack skills.

Interesting experiment and great chords work!

Somewhere in my head Ferris Bueller is playing his Emulator II and starting WWIII with Joshua all at once smile    Lovely melodies

The peak controller in fl studio make sidechain really easy. I also used it to modulate the amount of side-chain with an lfo. No one has found the secret thing yet!
I thought I cut out that line, but I might have left one in!

What the hell is up with that patcher patch lmao. Technical wizard. Very very nice tune, really enjoying the washy pads.

Phreaking Phantastic!
