This melody was originally written for a game I was working on that got rejected, decided to convert it to a tracker file, but the whole instrument process took a lot longer than I thought it would, so didn't get to really fix this one up until after the submission.

Nice and smooth - perfectly fits the gif, and vise versa!  You make really cool use of the chiptune lead and arps too.

Oh my god smooth jazz. Absolutely not what I was expecting but this sounds amazing.

slappa da bass, walka da bass.  love this tune!

Lovely piano! The bossa nova drums are soooo satisfying to listen to. Downloaded etc., this is that good stuff, as per usual.

ooh yowzah those keys and jazzy beats! I envision a lil 8bit character exploring a new city where they just moved to and they level up by petting all the dogs. Haha, i dunno what I'm ramblin' about. Whee, so fun!

Fuck yeah, exactly what this guy said.  I'm pretty sure I was somehow thinking that same thing.  I love the synth tone on the melody, so good and perfect for this.

I think it is lovely! It might have been rejected but here it is welcomed with open arms, I really need a cheering up right now and this sweet melody is doing it for me, thank you heart

Hey guys! Updated the song! This process is so tedious, and why I don't track anymore!

Putting together this brush kit from random public domain samples on the internet was the hardest part. Reverb really helps tie them altogether!

If this isn't a game yet, we should make it!

I thought this time around the whole process would go smoother and faster. I was horribly mistaken!

I wish I could be that jazzy!

Most jazziest to date! Love that synth melody sung by the tiniest of 8bit cartoon mice. Brush work on the drum kit is sublime.

Perfect for a video game. Super fun to listen to. The melodies are innnnnnfectious.

Lol, it wasn't rejected because it was bad, but we wanted to go another direction that better fits the game-play.

Damn this is goooooooood!  Was the game rejected because the music was too good!? Jeebus!  I love the intro and outro chords.  You totally nailed that level start feeling.  The melodies are super catchy and the drums dang, so nice and yazzy.  High five!

What a lovely tune.  I really like the percussion...in fact, I love all the instruments and sounds going on.  Absolutely perfect for a video game.  Nice work!

The game wasn't rejected, lol. But they wanted to go another direction with the music genre. This really isn't uncommon in the beginning of game development since a lot changes in the early stages.

But I really like it so I figured it would be a good candidate to author in the .it/.mo3 format, hopefully to convince mobile developers that real-time music can sound just as good as a recorded music, but with all the added benefits of using real-time music.

I guess I should have linked to the original recording. By adding more instrument samples (For example I'm only using 6 piano samples, 5 upright bass samples) I could get it to sound more like the original, but for mobile/web games, I think this sounds pretty great, and at a size that is quite negligible that would allow for near instant load times!

I really like the contrast between the two versions, in one Mr. Neighborhood is more or less a background character, but in the other he's inviting you over to his backyard tea party.

happy music needs the world. thank you maestro.
