DrillBitBeat

By Ipaghost on June 22, 2014 10:57 pm

All sounds generated from a Black & Decker 18v cordless drill.
I also invented the turbo-brush for your gif viewing pleasure. Now only $199.00 while supplies last. Don't hesitate, this toothbrush makes music while you clean your mouth hole. Order now, or die from ninjavitis, which is totally a thing I heard my dentist talk about.

That's what I call "drill and bass". The whole Warp posse would be proud!

Total respect to your sounddesign skillz, Sensei. True sonic kung fu (suddenly I want the weather broadcast to bang some loud Squarepusher) smile

Nice! But no GIF of the bookshelves?

Haha, this is awesome. More drill tracks would be a real turning point for you! (bad pun...)

This is awesome. Seriously - all sounds from the drill? Nice work.

Blah, thanks! I spent the whole week just writing garbage so I decided to do something more beat oriented.

I had to do an IronChef of Music in the last hour, so I had to put off the gif, but I fixed it! Check out ICOM if you are into this kind of crazy 1 sample challenge, here's my submission which I only had an hour to do, usually it's a little better than this:

Screw that! JK! I think you nailed it! Time to bolt!

All sounds come from the drill, I've been doing ICOM for a while (check last comment), so I have quite a few techniques for single sample cheffing. I even made a custom drum synthesizer for the unique purpose of creating drums from any sound source:

You should check out ICOM if you are into this kind of challenge!

Rad. Very rad. Yeah, I did a couple of ICOMs last year, but the time difference made it impossible once I came home from Europe. sad

lol @ the gif
wow @ the track

We actually try to do some earlier for Europeans, however the ICOMs have been kind of sparse lately in general.

Thanks @ the you!

Checked out ICOM. Wow. It's like a Ninja Warrior comp for music.

Well done!

It totally is! You should try it out, it's a great way to level up!

The worst part about ninjavitis is that you never even see it coming.  One day you wake up... no teeth.

I don't have a Black and Decker, but I have a nice Milwaukee.  It sounds nothing like this.

hahahahah, the gif alone is worth an award. great work dude! my brother still owes me my bosh electric screwdriver back...he has it since 5 years now. bastard!

No one ever expects ninjavitis. It's chief weapon is surprise, fear and surprise; two chief weapons, fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency!

I'm pretty sure the Bosh would make mighty well good music!

this was friggin awesome! love how the beat slaps into place.  The quality of the sample sounds great and makes me want to drum along!  The end reminded me a bit of aphex twin's bucephalus bouncing ball smile  nice job!

I just bought two of these just because of the song.
Honestly you should be living off royalties from Black'n'Decker!

Now I must dance, but first let me kill the thread with a terrifying gif

This track is amazing, it doesn't feel "gimmicky" or "experimental", it just sounds dope, you may have to patent your toothbrush, I'll start promoting it to my patients

Dude, so well done per usual. The creativity here is insane as is the originality!

Haha, this is wicked! Excellent drillin'!
