Bubble Bee

Found the cutest little fur-ball of a baby bee walking around in my kitchen! It was very well mannered, and climbed into a cup so I could take it outside. This is a song for that bee! I changed "bumble" to "bubble", but didn't update the lyrics in the song because I'm not that much of a masochist, and I have to get started on next week's song before my trip out of town.

The funk is strong with that bee. I love the usage of space/pauses in the groove, this is magic. These little scratches are also doing wonders. This song is full of summer, I needed that ray of sunlight into my life. Thank you.

yay!

A beehive came into the basement one year!  it was scary!  I had to do a few catch and releases thanks to my supersize movie theater drink cup

whaaaaaat that’s crazy

100%

It’s interesting because sometimes you max out your tracks with events-per-second, so when you stop for a split second, it’s actually quite shocking.  Nice way to subvert listener expectations smile

right?!  i read a cute little book on their lifecycle - it was fascinating - it made me even sadder to learn about how many native bumble bee's are struggling to find habitat and keep alive... they are hugely important pollinators & more resilient that honeybee's (they are an introduced species in the US)

i am sure that was scary to find a swarm in your house!  trying to move them with a cup sounds challenging  smile  josh's uncle was a beekeeper - he told me about this funnel thing on a stick he made to catch the swarms up in the tree's it sounded pretty nifty...

it is good to know that honeybee's are superchill when they swarm cause they are conserving energy - it is loud and looks scary but they only get defensive once they've set up house or if you squish them cause they will die if they sting you... (wasps however can sting and sting and sting)

if you have a honey bee swarm locally don't hesitate to call your local beekeepers often they would love to take the hive off your hands & they have all the gear... milwaukee beekeepers

enjoying all the gentle moving the bee stories smile

Oh wow! That must be some good luck or something! Glad you saved them bees!
I don't know when I started cutting the down beats, but I love how it feels, and now I probably do it too much. I guess it's just my signature sound now or something!

Thanks for all of that great bee info! They are so nice, I think they get a bad wrap from people confusing them with wasps, which are straight up bastards that sting multiple times, and bite even when unprovoked!

I slept on this one -- it showed up as "played" but I do not remember this.

My grandfather was a beekeeper, which led to two things: not being too fond of honey (both due to having access, which sounds good but at some point you're like "enough honey" and because after having it direct out of honeycomb, store-bought things can't compete...) and having a "freak out" uncontrollable type reactions to flying insects going anywhere near my ears, like kinda embarrassingly so.

Super-high vocals = joy. And bees are super dope (unless they're flying at my ear unexpectedly)
