cold hands, rainstorm outside

By ioflow on January 10, 2016 10:57 pm

with two project deadlines due this week, i decided to create one ambient song to meet both of them. a tumbling piano melody, field recordings of a glass of ice water, and gentle rhodes swells through delay and reverb pedals.

The texture of the ice cube sounds over the piano is fantastic!

thank you so much! i am continually surprised by the recording quality of this zoom h5. so far, everything i've gotten from it has been great both for background layers and for more up-front snippets.

shit u said zoom h5? i ordered h4, was unsure until last moment whether to get 4h or h6.... hmmmm..

well, this track sounds brilliant nonetheless. simple yet catchy.. a neat bass below the track could really help it go places i believe. =]

really interesting piece! I'd try kicking some reverb/delay on the icecube samples as well, that might sound interesting. As is this track is really making me want a cool glass of lemonade, those samples are so crisp.

great ice glass samples!  zoom h5 you say.. i feel like my face is next to a glass of ice with a piano down the hall!

thanks, folks! there will be more field recordings in the future. so many beautiful things happen when combining real-world sounds with improvisation.

This was a real treat!

neat!
