Never Knew

This is a song for my band Leipzig Lab. Been working on it for a little while now. I just recorded my vocals on the weekend and struggled in mixing them. I always find producing my own vocals to be challenging, they just sound a bit cheap to me.. and I don't know if it's me, the mic, the room, etc. but I find it really hard to get a professional sound. All feedback is welcome.

My, what a great voice you have! Maybe try playing around with some fun effects, like through a pedal or a Kaoss pad if you're going to do it live!

Cool track.  Kind of has a late 90s sound to me?  Vocals are sounding good.  Doubling of vocals can be great and compression is your friend plus some well placed reverb.

I dig this! Getting some Peeping Tom meets Nine Inch Nails sorta vibe here.

I agree with rdomain about doubling vocals, reverb, and a little compression.

Also, I feel your pain about producing your own vocals. I always think my rhymes sound weak when I hear them recorded anywhere. We may just have to push through it!

It does have a certain NIN vibe, you can choose to lean into it and go even further with the vocal performance, or break off into your own direction, so the question here might be what do you want your vocals to be?
