Digital Flatline Inhibitor

By iHz on March 20, 2022 8:47 pm

This track was one of those where an idea just popped into my head (the chorus) and I had to stop everything to program it really quick before it left. I was frustrated with another track I was working on (I couldn't NOT make it sound like Disco Descent from Crypt of the Necrodancer lol) and this just popped into my head. I literally finished polishing the track this morning (added the cool background synth melody at the end).

There are a lot of square wave instruments in this track. I love square waves but I debated replacing some of them with more complex instruments. Ultimately (primarily due to time constraints), I decided to stick with most of the square wave instruments.

For the title, I was trying to come up with something that was a play on "square wave" or "pulse wave". "Digital" represents "square wave" and "Flatline Inhibitor" represents creating a "pulse wave". I spent too much time trying to come up with the title lol

I looooove square waves haha

Damn son, you can make those wavsynths sing.  There are lots of boxes this track ticks off on the list to make it my jam, but the lyrical quality of your melodies and the way you keep everything flowing and developing is especially spot-on.  You're making music I want to hear!

(also square waves are the best)

That really means a lot - Thank you so much! I've made a lot of LSDJ covers of songs with lyrics and I generally approach melodies from the perspective of imitating vocals. I'm glad that comes across in my songs! I'm going to check out your stuff too! smile
