Business Walk

By iHz on March 6, 2022 4:19 pm

With this track, I decided to experiment with a new songwriting method - Take the first word that pops into my head (in this case, "glasses") and then see what melodies/patterns pop into my head when thinking about that word. For some reason, I was picturing a business man wearing a suit & tie putting on a fancy pair of shades & then strutting down the sidewalk with his briefcase etc... and "Business Walk" was born hah!

This was produced on the M8. I did end up rendering an extra STEM on the M8 to stitch on top in post - I needed ONE more track for one bar and I didn't feel like trying to merge samples to free up a track for that. It adds a subtle difference to the building at the end of the chorus but the track doesn't fall apart without it but I thought it helped.

Thank you so much! smile

Funky and delightful, when the arps kick in around 50th second it's bliss. Really love the articulation (the grace note in particular) of the main lead.

Thanks! I probably spent more time polishing this track than any of my other tracks so far. I had a lot of trouble getting it to sound "full" - especially in the verses. I think the little "blip" arps helped a lot.
