Paparudǎ - Live at Geocenter

We did the album! Wim and I met again today for some nice pasta and to finish editing.

We basically used the same setup as on Principium from two weeks ago, which is a Zoom H5 recording adjusted with various plugins from UAD Spark. A bit of neve 1073 preamp with EQ, LA-2A compressor, a tiny bit of capitol chambers reverb, liberal amounts of tape saturation to make the loud parts a bit crispy.

Then we tweaked the video to make it look more moody and gloomy and interesting. Black and white so you can add your own colors in your head. Now it's on youtube and you can enjoy the whole thing, as well as pre-order it on bandcamp if you want to support us with cash! We'll launch the album later and we will try to make something fun out of the launch, we don't know what yet.

The first track on Live at Geocenter is called Paparudǎ, which is a Romanian word representing a dance that invokes the rain.

It's very nice you added the video. The piano and the contrabass have already LIVED a long life and have a lot of tear and wear, they sweat soul. I like that the piano is open and we can see all the hammers moving around.

Tasteful playing!

The track you uploaded has a beautiful eerie sound. This is a bit different than your usual tracks, there is more darkness and mystery. I love the dynamics of the track, and how expressive you can make the piano sound. Beautiful!

Thank you very much for listening! The concert goes to many places, but it's true, the collab sounds different than my usual stuff. I pull lots of inspiration from the bass, and the room itself, that shapes the sound.

Cool performance! I skipped around through various parts of the video and heard many interesting things. I like when you were both playin percussion with the instruments.

Wow, this is very fascinating. Cool that you included the video, it shows what a broad variation of tones/moods/styles and I can feel the joy of experimentation. I particularly liked where it went around 37 minutes, but it's the whole that makes it.
