Duckweed / Lost Time

Hey WB fam! I missed you! I have been doing some jams and playing, and had another piano concert since the last one!!! (which I didn't record, but the first one is now available on my bandcamp in full).

I finally managed to finish a song I've been writing for the past four weeks or so. I think it's a great one. It's inspired by a real place near my home, a lake with duckweed that grows all summer long it seems, starting in June and hopefully lasting for a little longer, for my viewing pleasure.

I had the chords early on, and struggled to find lyrics to convey this vague duckweed type emotion I was feeling. In the end, I wrote everything today, after many written pages of trash. And since today is sunday, I went to a local songwriter thing where you can play your songs to each other, and played it there, and it went well! I will soon get a recording from there too! But for now this submission is a fresh recording made with Røde NT-2 (and some UAD plugins to taste) after I got home, since it might take a day or two for the video and I'm not sure about the audio quality, might be camera-grade or phone-grade or straight from the mixer, who knows.

I love the repetition of the phrase lost time.  whilst viewing the duckweed it really evoked for me the melancholy of summer plants to me (Which may or may not be a duckweed type emotion).

Duckweed is a weird emotion not many people can find in themselves, unlike the sorrow of lost time. It's very lovely and bittersweet. Good work.
