I composed and also arranged strings for this beautiful ballad/ode for my friend whose birthday it was on Friday. I managed to crank it out in around 9 hours (all-nighter) but I am very satisfied with the result. Hopefully she will be too!

I used Staffpad and the UA piano and plugins for some mastering. No mixing required, as Staffpad already has the orchestra recorded in such a way that it's panned correctly.

Here is the score:

Edit: She was v happy about it! I played the song at a street food place where we gathered to eat and drink, and I used my iLoud bluetooth speaker which blasted it extremely loud. The entire street food square cheered at the end, it was pretty dope! big_smile

The lyrics are a little on the nose, she's be mad if she didn't like it, especially with the orchestral accompaniment you're blasting out the gates
Very romantic, too
- Ebrit

So many lovely details, I didn't listen to the lyrics the first time around (but I hope your friend did).  cool

This ought to be used as a promotion for Staffpad, including the story.

beautiful vintage track. the orchestra is glamorous.

Haha, thanks! The lyrics have a lot of inside humor and references, but I think the public can figure out what it's mainly about. Glad you think it's such a shining example of Staffpad. I feel like a baby compared to some classical composers out there. But it is powerful tho when I sweep in with a simple, big chord sometimes.
