Good as Gold

Hi Everyone - was gonna do another western triphop deal and ended up with something totally different - the drums were too funky to not do something downtempo - Low spark of high heel boys, Use me by Bill Withers, something in that neighborhood.

Doing a lot of testing on Windows ARM - holy crap it's strong but there are still some growing pains with VST's emulated.  Reaper has an excellent ARM native build but Nectar and anything I use to tune vocals and do dynamic EQ is not quite there yet - it's all mix/master and post production tools that are funky, everything else for tracking, instruments, and the live f/x I use for guitar plugs and stuff are 100% solid.  No tuning the vox this week (sorry xD)

The process for this was FUN - built the beat by dissecting some midipacks in AD2 and swapping some kits around until the vibe was right and imported about 32 bars with a couple variations into the M8.  Slip notes with the keys were done in M8 with the MTT function.  Dub bass is the PM Rickenbacker Scarbee instrument I previously built a chain for in the M8 - fattest sampled bass guitar ever.  Guitar was tracked into M8 originally, but I needed about 10 takes to get it to land with the drifty snare - I gave up and tracked that into DAW via Scuffham and did a little copy/paste.  vox layered in DAW via an MD421 through RME babyface.

Sounds great. Love the flow, the vocal performance and back vocals arrangements.

Sorry to ear ARM Windows is kind of a pain!

I have an old intel desktop at home that started to freeze after 10mins, had to fresh install windows to fix it... (I am running Win11 on unsupported processor.) Seems to be "stable enough" now.

When the Funk calls, one must answer! Drums are awesome, but holy hell those keys and vocals sound great, to say nothing of those BG vocals. Smooth and easy. Awesome.
