Rapid Debris

On Monday my little idea-hat gave me the challenge to make what I initially thought you guys meant by "speed-trash",  somthing at a very high tempo with a ton of distortion.

I noodled around on the modular for a bit but didn't find anything I really clicked with. Then the rest of the week happened. Today I finally had some more time for music and I'm in a very different mood than I was on monday, so I basically redid everything from scratch. Everything started coming together when I loaded up a piano patch on the hydrasynth and cranked the reverb.

In the end I sort of like the thing I made. It became a bit more breakcore than I was expecting but that is a genre I would really like to experiment more with. I think If I had endless time and energy This track could use some more tweaking, maybe a proper bassline, maybe some vocals or I was even thinking about doing some moody spoken word stuff.

Great grove. Damn, fast as fuck chops. Hell yeah.

love that dreamy vibe!

Yeah like the dreamy vibe it starts, and I like how not totally sure what will happen, then the faster beat goes new direction. Love how the beat keeps changing. Kept me interested and along for the ride!
Last WB year I remember asking people what they meant by speed trash!

excellent intriciate drum groove.  love all those lil percussive elements dancing around.  Almost like a train chugging down the tracks. \m/  also thank you for the kind steer regarding my recent restore debacle.

Sad spirals and high intensity. Love the telephone filter on the break in the intro and the rhythmic displacement at ~0:43, and then the track expands into twitchy gothic cool. Claps were a great choice to keep the drums in focus. The song as a whole weirdly makes me think of early 00s goth/alt rock like HIM or Evanescence. Maybe it's the revolving piano? Whatever it is, I like it.

Haha yeah for some reason I committed to 192bpm early on and it definitely gives it a distinct feel.

Thanks! I was unsure of the vibe for a long time and I think the track actually captures my mixture of feelings throughout the week pretty well

I'm still pretty new to chopping breaks so I wasn't sure how often would feel right to switch it up. Thanks for listening!

Oh that's an interesting take! Yeah on relistening I can kinda hear it. Maybe it's the bitcrusher+reverb? that feels very early Internet to me.

Thanks everyone! I was kinda absent from the site last week and it's super nice to come back to a pile of comments.
