apparently i recorded the main bulk of this back in january, 2012.  i think i'd just bought my first banjo and was experimenting with it.  the drum machine at the beginning, i *think* is a boss dr. 55.  i was always at odds with keeping it in at the beginning from what i recall but i think i quite like it now.  a final note is that i recall bouncing it down to vhs to see how if i could get any nice artifacts on the track.  i didn't particularly, save for the two audible drop outs, the first one at 35 seconds; the other just after the 1 minute mark.  i thought i'd retain them for posterity's sake.

listening back, having eventually putting it to bed, it does sort of remind me of to shelia by the smashing pumpkins, for better or worse...
