fables, tugging

quite happy with this week's offering.  a change of tempo and key from previous weeks.  and includes an estimable m7b5.  when composing 'electronic' pieces, i often fail to consider the chords and just jam on my push till i find something i like.  this time, i put a bit more thought into the chords i was actually using.  i revisited Bb major as the home key; i hadn't composed in it for quite some time.  i usually find it has a slightly more statesman like sombre tone to it.

i routed the final master through my teac tape desk.  i am sure, however, that the mix is slightly lopsided somehow because of it.  next time, i need to be careful to check my levels more accurately.

drums were composed by me jamming out on a hi-hat glitch patch with record quantise set to 1/16ths to drag everything in time.

the sole drum machine you hear at the end was provided by chordion from my iPad [as well as one of the organ lines]

i'm still yet to settle on a grand piano sound i truly love in ableton.  i will find it before the year is out...

Very sweet. Soundtrack material. Modern romance?

Diplomats solemnly dancing on sandpaper.

I know what you mean about the Ableton pianos -- they all sound 2-dimensional.
