a solitary affair

came up with the main guitar riff earlier this week.  finally found out how to rewire reason into ableton [i had reason set to 64 bit for some reason and it took me ages to figure out this was causing it not to work]. so i got a chance to play around with some of the synth sounds in there, although i think they could be a little quieter, especially the screeching line.  but i guess this is about working quickly so i'm not getting worked up about the mixing side of things.

i seem to have a habit, when working in ableton, of recording rather disparate sections without really thinking how i'm going to join them together as a cohesive whole.  here, i seem to lurch into this key change rather awkwardly. slightly inelegant but i liked it enough to keep it.

oh and this is my first track using my ableton push...

mastered rather clumsily in reason.

This is a really nice track! That key change actually lifts the mood a bit. But very nice sounds and instruments.

I really liked this. The synth swell is super great sounding.

yeah, this one grabbed me right away - was in the middle of something at work but had to stop and see who this track was by. Very cool, love the guitar work and the sounds you chose to accompany it.

Excellent! Very emotive and scenic.

I love this! Great job!

That guitar sound.  Really enjoying your sounds.
