Elevate

Influenced by whatever music fits my mood at the time, I've started listening to Swell Season again the past few days.  I wasn't able to come up with something new so this is (unfortunately) from a competition I did last Thursday.  Piano, bass, drums, violin, cello, 5/4.  Repetitiveness is kind of in my nature, but I want to move away from that eventually.  I wish I at least changed the chord progression later in the track ..

I really like your compositions but I think if you put a little more work into the sounds themselves it would sound a little better. I'm thinking of especially the piano part playing a melody and another, what sounds like piano, playing a counter melody. It might work better if it's two sounds that sound a little more different from each other, so our ears can pick them out a little more easily. Just my two cents, good work though.
