Week 25

I've been listening to a lot of video game soundtracks recently, I don't really get to play games like I used to but I really do enjoy a well crafted soundtrack.

I wanted to see if I could make something that would fit well with a stealth section of a game. I was pretty happy with the outcome. Making the distorted bassline was a lot of fun.

I've decided that after next week, I might not be as intense with the weekly beats for the rest of the year. I'll still aim to do it, I just won't be as disappointed if I miss one here or there.

I say that now but we'll see...

Update 26/06 - I've been getting really frustrated with the guitar. At the end of last year I was in a position where I wasn't the best, but I was capable. Cut to now where I feel like I've regressed technically by quite a bit which is frustrating given how long it took me to get to where I was.

I've decided that for the rest of this year I'm going to try and have a guitar layer into tracks for the rest of the year. What this means:

- woo. more guitars.
- boo. guitars will sound horrible. only initially I hope.

What it actually means is that for a few weeks, I expect the quality of tracks to drop a bit while I start integrating guitars back into my creative process.

In the last six months or so, weekly beats has done a lot for my ability to push out tracks. Hopefully, this will continue for the rest of the year.

Hooray for progress!
