Super Secret Metroidvania Breaks

By hieroglitch on January 9, 2022 8:52 am

The track was mostly made over two five hour twitch streams.

Pro tip: if you're new to streaming, finish when planned.
Otherwise you'll end up streaming for 10 hours over two sessions.

Track was a lot of fun to make in Ableton. I messed around with the sampler, made fun leads and explored all the new Ableton 11 features.

The new LFO feature is wonderful.

I also like them. They were created at the very end of the stream where I gave myself like 20minutes to smash them out.

I am surprised how good they turned out given such a harsh deadline!

Gonna jump over and have a listen to your track in a minute.

Wait, the stream went for 10 hours? Insane. The track sounds great btw. Very different to your other stuff but also still having the same vibe. All hail Ableton 11!

mysterious indeed

I would have died if it was 10 hours. hah.

It was two, five hour streams on consecutive days. It was not planned. Oh damn.

Glad you liked it. No matter how hard I try, I cannot escape the spooky.

warbles and grinding! what a great description, I am glad you liked them.

and thank you for the comparison! very kind of you.

As someone who loves game music, this hits hard for me. As someone who really loves Castlevania, I love this vibe. Huge win.

I'm glad you liked it! Have you played Hollow Knight? I think that was the last metroidvania style game I played, the atmosphere was something special.

My brother has been telling me to play Hollow Knight forever, and I just bought it! I will get into it soon.
