quick session this week. personal life matters.

plus, I forgot to hit record the first time around Q_Q.

this is the second, more interesting half of the recording. the first half is a nicer, more ambient (hah) version which might stay unreleased until I actually release this properly in the coming year(s).

battering ram running a 4/4 kick for most of it, the cool rhythms happened from using the ES Pico DSP on a delay and then running through a bunch of processing before another delay (Electus Versio) near the end of the signal chain. Electus Versio was -supposed- to be clocked to 4/4 however it appears I did not do this (oops). Happy accidents are always great.

a lot of the bass elements are caused by the BR kicks outside of the 4 hits per bar interacting with the bastl dark matter. Dark Matter is a very temperamental module but I can't give it up right now. Some of the sounds are just too good.

I find patching/tweaking sidechaining tedious AF at the moment, so no sidechain this week.

Really raw and tense sound design here. I love the crunch on the bass line.

thanks! it was a nice surprise, was literally just off beat kicks misbehaving big_smile

I love the warm distortion and thick, driving beat. This would go great under a montage of our crack team of supernatural mercenaries arming up for the big finale.

Now I can see this. There's at least one pair of night vision goggles. Hell yeah. That's awesome.

I absolutely love it. So simple yet feels so alive with so much gritty tension

Hey thanks for the kind words.

If you want to hear more, there's a lot more stuff like this on my bandcamp/streaming services - whichever is easiest for you smile
