1/x

By hieroglitch on January 30, 2022 10:22 pm

Entire track is a recording of a TB03 through an MXR300 reverb pedal.
No loops, no layers, just the synth and the pedal. Plenty of recuts and fades, the original recording was exceptionally long. There was enough recorded for a part 2 (2/x)

It's fun trying to make more with less.

Special mention to my partner: she hears all songs first. She is always honest and my music is better for it.

Both 1/x and it's counterpart, 2/x, have generative videos available on YouTube:

Holy shit I love this. That bass is foreboding AF. I love the arp patterns. You really nailed it on this one.

Really enjoy the menace of this track. It's great working with a limited set of tools.  See, you don't have to buy lots of modular.  tongue

This gif perfectly sums up the vibe. Its got a great minimal ritual vibe to it. I'm picturing being in a room with red spot lights and a a pile of sticks set up for a fire. There are bones around the edges of the pile and the feint glow of the impending fire at the center of the pile. It flickers in time with the tb03

Wow, thank you very much. I am glad you enjoyed it. Now that I've been able to sit with it for a bit, I am quite fond of it too smile

I wish I'd seen this before finishing the touchdesigner video for it. This rules but is also terrifying.

appreciate the words!

earlier versions had a very big concern of being boring and meandering, so less is more!
