march has been a terrible month with some of the biggest trials i have faced in many years, following february which was a long "journey" of intense nerve pain following dental surgery, and the effects of being on loads of antibiotics and painkillers. january was neutral but so far i'd say 2024 has been a terrible year and right now everything is hovering in uncertainty - and one possible outcome is that things are about to get much worse. i, like many others around this time, had considered giving up on weekly beats. i'm sad to see a few of my favourite artists appear to have dropped out. glancing at the numbers i see we've just surpassed a drop of 100 users compared to week 1. but i decided at the beginning of the year that i would commit to this. it's nice to have the option of submitting absolute f*cking garbage tracks rather than giving up 
creative freedom is a beautiful thing.
i've learned from doing other long-term daily or weekly projects in the past that the low spots are merely part of the process, and in the end it pays off to keep going when you want to give up. so if you're feeling low, discouraged, uninspired - make something bad. it feels good.
