Struggled to get a track out this week. Wasn't especially busy or hectic, just wasn't really feeling it and couldn't really capture anything for most of the week, so ended up with something that feels a bit bare bones. This just means is I'm back trying to once again capture the image of a lazy beach leading into a deep ocean.

A simple song can paint lovely pictures. I listen to it and I can see the empty beach in sunset. I can see to the water and the soft waves move in with cold breeze. So peaceful scene in this.

Sometimes minimalism is good.  Less is more as they say.  This definitely paints a vivid picture as is and I don't think it needs much (if any) more.

I like the subtlety of the atmosphere and the balance of the sounds. Good luck with next week's track!

The ocean always calls us home. Nothing wrong with it as inspiration.

The layers that come in are nice. Fav.

Definitely getting those lazy beach vibes. It's hard to stay motivated every week, especially close to the end!

This atmosphere is gentle and grateful. I think the song is timeless and really beautiful. One of the best songs I have ever heared on WB. Wonderful job.

Really cool man, love the sparse synths.  You've got a really nice vibe on this track.

Very smooth track, feels good. smile

That second synth pad that comes in and out is a good representation of the ocean waves.  A really nice meditative feel to this especially as it echoes out towards the end.

You too, eh. Relying on shortcuts isn't the worst though, feels rather nice.

Very nice sounds, put me in good head space. Good job getting something done, sometimes just starting is what it takes, worth it!

Oof so wooooozy, love it. Honestly sometimes when you're not feeling it and you take the pressure off yourself and just get something down, you end up with a real gem. Feels like this is the case here. So simple, but such a lovely mood.

The use of the bass notes droning like waves rolling in then lapping back into the sea was great. I remember an older don't where you did something similar with a rolling bass sound through ADSR or an LFO. Your atmospheric pieces turn out really well.

I'm glad you can see what I saw. smile

I'm really glad you like it. I have a habit of wanting to keep adding things, you know? It's nice to remind yourself to pare things back occasionally.

Thank you! Good luck to us both!

Yeah, but we're getting there week by week! It's been really inspiring and motivating to hear the vastly different pieces of music people are creating each week, and I love having so much to listen to each week.

You are much too kind sir, especially when you capture such beautiful flow rhythms and vibes yourself.

Thank you! The idea of simplicity often seems to evade me when it comes to synth stuff; I get very excited about layers.

A lot of my ambient stuff is an attempt to chase some of the cool stuff you've been making over the weeks. Still a long way to go, but really appreciate you listening and commenting. smile

On a lazy week, it's perfect.

I've been thinking a lot about the creative process during weekly beats, and there's a lot to be said for just starting and just finishing. Both can help you reach places you didn't think possible, and both are almost always important steps forward in terms of progression. Thanks for listening!

Totally agree! It can be an easier mountain to climb than it feels like at the time, and the results can sometimes surprise you. I still have my reservations about this track, but I think as the person who made it that can't be helped. Thanks for listening!

It's often very hard for me to create atmospheric pieces that don't end up sounding too messy or crowded. I feel like this was a good chance for me to explore simplicity again; the results aren't quite what I wanted, but they're getting closer to what I'm aiming for, and there were some good lessons in it.

I often fall back on slow, synthy ambient stuff too when I'm feeling uninspired one week, but I really like that kind of music because I think it does a good job of capturing whatever raw emotion might be lingering in you, you know? This song in particular is really relaxing and beautiful, doesn't need anything more than that.
