Put this together over a couple of days in the countryside of Tochigi prefecture, to a background of chirping frogs hidden in nearby rice fields. The mix is far from perfect, but I captured the main melodies that were stuck in my head and had a lot of fun with percussion and idea building. I'm really enjoying the op-z as a travel-size synth idea generator; it weighs practically nothing and is easy to pack, but there's so much I can do with it now that I'm more comfortable with the general workflow.

This has a nice spring morning vibe and yes, you should have recorded the frogs as ambient percussion!!!

Were you enjoying the onsen there? If so, I'm very jealous!

This is a great track, it would feel right at home in an indie videogame.

Such a sweet track. The instruments are gain staged nicely. I really like the kick and how you brought in the drum elements. Great work. I found once I got used to my recording software, things moved more quickly. I'm glad that's happening with you and the op-z.

I wish I was, but I was just enjoying the quiet of the countryside.

It feels good to have a better grasp on how the basic components work together, because it allows me more space to tinker and explore. smile

lovely song. well done.

So pretty melody and soft sound! I also wish to hear the frogs in it!

Very lovely song. Can't wait to hear what else you can come up with.

Really calming peaceful track.  I enjoyed the marimba/bellish melody especially.  Well done!

I guess I'll have to get some frog samples next time I'm in the countryside.

Thanks! I'm thinking I might try playing with more samples at some point.

I have a real serious soft spot for the bell-like sounds on the op-z. I think they probably feature in almost everything...

Totally should sample the surrounds and add to the track if the OP-Z can do that?  I know the OP-1 definitely can.  Lovely chill vibes.
