Kind of phoned it in this week. I spent most of the week learning about the Deluge's sampling function with the piano sample that opens and closes this track (I recorded it with the built-in mic, actually.) I'm happy I learned a lot about the process, but very little of that made it into the final piece, which is just a few simple synth lines and a drum pattern soaked in a little distortion. A little disappointed in myself to be honest, but I guess that's just the way it goes sometimes.

80% of the fun in weekly beats is trying out new things and learning on the way. This piano sample is good in the way it's not perfect, it lives and has an organic unquantized feel. It works well with the simple beat. Keep it up!

Maybe you didn't do what you feel was good, but you put together another piece that is continuing to improve that flow you are looking to have in your songs. You also learned more about music this week. Maybe you didn't put it all together, but whose to say that not doing it all in Monday-Sunday means you failed? Nice work and accept your progress as an accomplishment because your work is progressing each week.

Thanks! It's funny, the organic nature of it is what initially kept me away, but now it's what makes me want to play with samples more.

Really appreciate this comment. It's sometimes hard not to look at creative work on a creation-by-creation basis (especially with my short stories), but sometimes it's more about what they all build towards. smile

All part of the process! I think the simplicity you ended with really brings this together. Very chill selections, smooth pacing. Keep it up man!

If nothing else, you've got a nice chill interlude.

I like the recording with the external as it adds a lofi quality to it all.  WB is great for picking one thing to study and then creating something from it.  So enjoying the Deluge?

Thanks for the kind words!

This is true. I could always come back to it, too.

The Deluge is great. Much like the op-1 and op-z before it though, it's takeing me a while to wrap my head around all the features and how to use them, so progress is kind of slow.

very chill - dig
