Sidechains

By Henrik Sjørslev on February 6, 2014 1:40 pm

This is my first trial using sidechain compression, and was meant to be a purely technical exploration, but suddenly some kind of song structure appeared. I spend some time on finding the right synth sound for the sidechain and ended up with this one, and perhaps not the right choice? The same goes for the melody voices, and the “vocals”, not enough time and to many possibilities.

Hope you like either way;)

This is gorgeous - like a song trying to push its way out of the compressor, love it

Sounds pretty great to me. I love the vox. Did feel like it lost its way a little in the middle...

I like this one. And that synth is a good one. It is somehow soft and gentle, despite being a vary harsh saw-wave. Maybe just a little bit of high pass would have helped. But that vox, man. Wow.

Oh and that sub you added in the outro/ last verse was perfect.
