Ostinato Interleave - motifs

I'd like to step away from so much looping, yet loops are the fastest path to a piece of music. To that end, I'm subdividing a 3-week challenge into 3 parts, the fist of which is here. My goal: take the notes of a simple ostinato (first 8 secs) and mute out parts of it to form motifs and chord progressions. This scopes a melody to not only the note-palate of the ostinato (a blend of C natural and harmonic minors) but also the note positions in time within measures.
From 8-37sec, i have 2-bar bass line motifs which mostly follow the rules for the melody, but also serve as chord roots for future melodic derivation.
From 37-53, there are 4-bar chord progressions which essentially make use of the ostinato twice for a full progression.
From 53 to the end, there is a thick sample of what a more fully orchestrated segment may be like
Next week will involve the full set of melodies in place as a full sketch, then the following week will be the finished product.
