Orpheus Descends

By HaloOfTheSun on February 23, 2014 11:42 pm

This week I took the sketches I did for Week 2 and wrote as much music as I possibly could before I ran out of time.

The good thing is I ended up with 15 minutes of music, which is great for a week! The bad thing is there is only a 16MB upload limit, so the mp3 had to be a little lower in quality.

In any case, I think this turned out really well!

wow, this is epic. 15 minutes in  a week. good god, youre crazy

Impressive! & what program are you using?

Sibelius, which is actually capable of a lot more than people tend to think, beyond just notation for music performance. But I use a fairly simple soundfont (for ease and speed) that prevents a lot of things from being played correctly, like the few measures in the intro:

Without a nice VST it won't play the gliss if it's also playing tremolo and of course the direction in the cello part is meaningless unless you have a library with that effect.
