Little Ditty

I got a late start on this one because earlier in the week, I was trying to figure out the name of a song and ended up trying to recreate it enough that either my wife or Google music search could figure out it. (Sadly, neither of them has yet, my mind is still a bit preoccupied with trying to figure that out.)

So ultimately, I kinda threw this together at the last moment and it ended up being a bit of a mess with both SID style instruments and FX synth. I was able to accomplish some of what I've learned this year with varying energy levels in different sections of the song, so I am happy about that. I feel like I could have done a lot better with this, making it longer with a couple more variations on the existing sectinos, but just didn't give myself enough time to tweak it.

Also, I often think of lyrics just to figure out the timing of my melodies and, while listening to this just before posting, the same lyrics came to my mind that I've used before, so I think maybe I reused the same melody again. I don't have time to figure it out or fix it though, so I'm just posting what I've got.

Love this!  It sounds like the end screen after beating an SNES game.

I can't imagine it with lyrics...  I think it's so hard to put lyrics to chiptune songs.  Are you planning on posting an updated version with vocals added on?

I liked it so much I used it in a video for my new website.  thanks!

Hah! No. My "lyrics" are more just sentences to get the melody to sound good than actual lyrics that make any kind of sense. But I am working on trying to get better at "real" lyrics. Maybe I'll release a song with some vocals this year...
