What The Lake Hid

I've been having a  blast trying out the free Spitfire LABS plugins this Sunday. There's a lot of eerie/creepy sounds among the LABS so I went for more of an unsettling vibe this week. Coincidentally I've also watched 2/3rds of Dune and the soundtrack alone makes me wanna try out some more cinematic sounds in the coming weeks - maybe as a sort of inspirational crutch when the good ideas just don't come by themselves.

Atmospheric and moody beginning, didn't expect that vocal sound to emerge. Wild lake sirens. The one dissonant chord around 1:20. Strong storytelling feeling.

Best of luck with the further cinematic explorations. (Loved the Dune soundtrack)

This is fantastic, I can absolutely see the grey lake and winter forest under a cloudy sky. The piano chords are especially delicious. +1 for spitfire labs heart

Fun listen, a reminder for me to listen to more film scores, they can definitely provide inspiration.  I recently listened to The Martian score on whim, going to check out The Dune score today.

nice one! epic feel, lots of storytelling.

I've never seen the Martian, I'll check that out! I'm not a die hard Zimmer fan, it just goes so well with the cinematopgraphy

Thank you very much! :-)

Oooh.. very "lugubre et inquiétant".
I'd see this as a soundtrack to "Sunless Sea". If you haven't played it, check it out.
