Colour Study: Creek Blue

By Gunda on January 21, 2024 10:11 pm

Trying out a concept of working with only one analog sound source in Ableton, like a single paint colour. Todays "colour" was a doodle on an ukulele that's been collecting dust for years. (Hoping it's not a slippery slope towards becoming an ukulele cover youtuber:/ )

I like the concept, and yes, watch out for that ukulele slippery-slope, heh heh heh (joking)... A beautiful piece of music.

Plucktastic! Love the reverse vibes.

Nice exercise, and it led to this cool track! I like the dynamics and confidence to play in every extreme of the sample processing. Super nice intro and arps created from the sample, also the deep bass tones.

Ah so great. I like the limitation you put on yourself for this by only using the one sound source. You’ve got it sounding like a harp sometimes and I love the fast sweeping arpeggios. Beautiful track.

cool idea and a wonderful outcome!

Nice work! lots of cool effects throughout.. great atmosphere.

This is really cool!

Wowza, hard to believe this is all from a ukulele. Love all the fast, pitched-up runs and arpeggios throughout.

Lovely vibe and textures

Thank you for the kind comments and for following along on this ukulele journey heart Definitely brought out some arps that could be fun to mess around with later.

what lovely textures!

Wow, this was really unexpected and cool. I love how much tone you got out of reversing and pitch shifting, things folding inwards but expanding in all different directions too.
