I came down with a bad cold and couldn't really finish. I am trying to learn unfiltered audio zip which I just got and it's a really deep compressor plugin that I want to use for extreme pumping, Roland SP / LA Beat scene really lo-fi and heavy handed compression.

fine fine compression going on here. Makes the the song big and fat. And it is still space for the little birds to sing their song. Great.

ya the bird sound next to the compressed sound is a nice juxtaposition

Is it really SP404 or are you just into the "Roland state of mind"? I sold my 505 back in 2014 and never looked back. It was crunchy, though

Great vibe here. And sorry about your cold (even commenting a couple week later)

No it's just abuse of some plugins, mostly the zip compressor. I have a very love/hate relationship with the Roland SP, i have a 303 and a 404, I hate using them, but absolutely love what some people have managed to make with them, and the whole La beat scene / SP sound

Haha I feel you, man! I thought I was the only one hating those boxes. It took me years learning to love my MPC. It was such a dissapoint when I first got it!

I also love what some people accomplish with them, though I can't help to think computers give way more power and flexibility
