Generative Nonsense: January 4-5, 2013

Given the tight deadline (I signed up last minute), I decided to just build a musical sandbox and let the computer bounce around in it.  I think it came out fairly well, all things considered.  It mixes elements of different genres.  Ends abruptly (for clean looping) -- the "live" version will happily jam along with itself forever.

Groovy machine there!

Yep, pretty groovy...nice and clear recording too.

cool but i would hvae tightened up the cut

@rANGEL, Thanks!

@sinewave: That's largely coincidence.  I mixed it on laptop speakers and honestly don't know what the recording sounds like.

@starpause:  I agree, there are definitely some stretches that work better than others.  I started chopping up some of those to create a more deliberate melody and structure, which would have resulted in a much better song, but I decided for this first entry that the recording should convey what the machine is actually producing (which is endless variations on a one measure loop).

Also, I got stuck in my head with that and was never going to finish it.  smile

Great to see you at midihack, notice I commented on your piece back in jan! smile
