Experimenting with random number generation for the melody based on minor/major chords, 4 loop sequence, 16 step. BPM random in sensible range.

Numbers generated at Random.org and saved in this Twitter thread.

Very minimal mastering (reverb, compression, delay)

Even a random melody it sounds cool to your style and drums smile Is the all the bass and fast melody random also? Do you ever try random drum generation or is it not good?

Interesting to hear about the random element of the process. It hangs together well and has a sort of congruent alien logic to it, like it makes sense according to its own internal logic. Love that hypnotic drum part holding it all together beautifully.

The random numbers were only used for the cord progression. I added in the rest. I didn't use random drum patterns, i wanted the drums to "hold it together" a little

The drums did follow the chord changes which were random, but i wanted the drums to keep the groove a bit, i needed something to ground it. It's nice that you also had that feeling

nice tune! def has an algorithmic feel to it

That micro tuning got me smiling!

1. That damn 808 RS -- I love it but the first two times through it I couldn't listen to anything else except for that satisfying off-beat TLUK.
2. The wee quiet tekkie arp & its development is sick.
3. 1:25 heart

That beat is super cool. There is that weird arp in the back that really brings a disturbing vibe to this track. really interesting track. Definitely not human.

Tickles my brain. That hectic drum beat is tasty.

Liked it lots

It is a good first attempt at using randomness, makes me want to try again

The Arp follows the chord structure but i have some random detuned then just layer it at different parts

The drums were the non random part, had to find something that fit the chord changes at the randomly chosen points so i just followed them really

Listened to this again and all i can hear is that 808 RS

I really enjoy the "hollow" timbre or energy of the chords and/or timbre here. it creates this interesting "glowing" effect that I like a lot.

Cool ideas to get the track going.  Dang the drums sound so nice and tight!  Always a fan of your synth sounds.

I never thought of it as glowing, but a good adjective

Funny enough it was much more simple before then started to detune everything and it became a lot better imo
