Cut from my upcoming release, I couldn't really make it any better.

Simple break, kind of hip-hop, kind of downtempo.

Started experimenting with the patterns later in the song, got sick of it.

Enjoy.

I like the mixing a lot, there is a lot of space and clarity. really nice chord choices.

please don't take this as a criticism (especially since it is going on your next release) but I do wonder what it would sound like significantly slower... like 75% as fast.

Oh good idea, will try it out, maybe a later weekly beats track remix

Grr, the "lost my comment" timeout. What I originally wrote, tldr:
1. I like this track (low subs 2/3rds in (1:33) are particularly dope);
2. Quality is relative, sometimes cutting tracks says more about the rest of the release than about the track itself;
3. I am a gesceap fanboy, excited about the new release (warm wishes, best of luck)

(License is right, chopped'n'screwed ftw)

this an awesome track. It is a genious mix of hiphop and electronica in a very good quality.

This idea of slowing it down would give me more space to do other polyrhythm work.

The new release is based around a lot of drum breaks, this would have fit well but It just didn't seem "right"

Thanks, the new release is really a homage to drums, that's why they are so prevalent here.

Would love to hear how someone would lay some rhymes over the top of this beat, because it's awesome.

I used to sing and rap a lot funny enough, haven't for years

The big tom and the dark piano melodies are an highlight of this track. They set a very interesting atmosphere. Dark and cinematic.

I'm not sure who you are talking about here, are they a band?

I could imagine someone from Anticon laying a few bars over this. Or Aesop Rock maybe! The atmosphere lends itself to telling some kinda story

Congrats on the upcoming release. Particularly like the chord progression starting around 35 seconds in, with that beautifully unsettling melody on top. So nice. And the slight off kilter ending is great.
