Praise Aemon

By gesceap on April 20, 2022 6:15 am

A false deity to praise. prostrate and repent for all the goodness left in you.

If all else fails, may Aemon save your soul.

Starts heavy gets good at around 1:20, gross bass and heavy slow breaks

Music Video Idea
---
[START]
Homeless man in city
Angry and Lost
Yelling, screaming, scribbling, interacting with the world
In downtown, a politician will clean up the city
gives the man food, he throws it to the ground
a face emerges from the muck, he draws it on some paper
he's found a partner, a confidant, aemon
he starts to speak, open up, cry
he starts to worship Aemon
Aemon saved him, he is found
[CHORUS]
Finds a hidden space, conducts a seance for Aemon
Feels elated, relived, reborn
Awoken to the world, aware
He decides it is time to take his schizophrenic medication

A new dawn, a job and a house
A commute on public transit
A nine to five paper pusher in an office
He drinks himself to sleep every night
Angry and Lost
Yelling, screaming, scribbling, interacting alone in his home
His drink falls, an advert resembles a lost friend Aemon
It is the politician
he's found a partner, a confidant, the politician
he starts to speak, open up, cry
he starts to worship politics
It saved him, he is found
[CHORUS]
He goes to political rallies
Makes pamphlets, argues, determined to prove truth
Starts to become violent through political justifications
The image of the politician on his mantle resembles Aemon

haunting vibes and halloween harmonies - music video is greenlit as it is like my life in reverse

I hope you are not homeless and finding help if that is true.

Regardless this comment hit me some how...

Do you make videos too?

My bad, I didn't mean to alarm.  Your song in combination with the poetic wording of the video idea just resonated with me.  I manage with some of the other things you mentioned  and as a result homelessness, although far away, is one of my worst fears, and although i've never been there, it looms in the background sometimes as if it were some magnet I'm being drawn to, some kind of distant inevitability.   As if the music video you came up with was playing in reverse.   That's why it resonated.   It also reminded me of some of the shared themes I've expressed in my own writing and video work as well.  The difference between what's lost and what's found and all the hope and melancholy in-between.   Really dig your tune - cheers

I like your transition between parts on this. Your story is fitting to the song I think. And the notes always going down, as the mental feeling of this man maybe? I'm interested to hear more stories to your songs smile

I'm happy to hear, really thank you for listening

Dark and heavy. I love it as always.

Absolutely bonkers!  love this track, the flow and cadence of this beat is so dope with the haunting vibes, great description for the video.  As I was listening the aphex "come to daddy" video kept coming to my mind.

I definitely got a dark vibe from this -- sort of like a seemingly regular, mundane public transit thing where the situation seems not out of order, but one of the passengers is dealing with a dark secret (and is a victim thereof, rather than a villain).

Yeah that is the vibe but i feel like the drums could have been a little bit better, maybe less busy to capture that feeling

This would be a nice addition in the plot some twist or experience on the public transit.

I really dig the groove here, the interplay between the beat and the bass sequence, head nodding intensifies

The whole idea started as just a drum beat and the bass, it's what holds it together. The drums are kind of weak and falling apart but the bass glues it together

Damn that bassy synth sounds awesome and gnarly all at once.  The beat has it's own spooky vibe to it.  They're contrasting but they fit so nicely together imho.  Excellent work as always!

The first bass line was really the inspiration for everything

This is so dark and groovy. I love it! Wow that's awesome. Goes really well with the lyrics you wrote too. I love that the synth bass has a really cool melody but that there's also an interesting high synth melody part going on over the top.

Gesceap, my buddy - nobody detunes me like u do.

I kind of forgot about this one to be honest. I really wish I could have made a video for it. It was so vivid to me when I made the tune, attenuation over time, now a dream

glad you liked it, nice to hear from you.
