Love this one. I am normally not big into stabs but they fit in so well here. It's rad to see them re-contextualized. I also really like the idea of using nanoloop for acid-ish lines. The engine is more than capable of putting out a great squelchy sound.

This is reeeeeealy good!

So slick, the sine-wave lead (e.g. around 3:18) is sweet af (is that same sound as the opening detuned pad?). Really partial to the bass work on this: really good melodies in that 'cid. heart

Trick is not too use too shitty of a stab

Love the funky drummer use along with those squelchy lines.  The melodies that come in around the 2min mark hit so nicely in the mix too.  So good!

I love funky drummer, don't want to over use it but then again i use the think break constantly

Great use of Funky Drummer, reminds me of when I first heard it as a teenager, Sublime covering the Grateful Dead’s “Scarlet Begonias”… But your sound is completely different here. Coffee break or a rave is just right. Particularly love where it goes in the last minute, just beautiful, works great against the vocal sample. smile

I never heard this song by grateful dead, tbh having a hard time hearing the comparison, would like to know what you are hearing, which part of the song makes you thing of "scarlet begonias"?

Sorry I wasn’t clear, I meant the cover version of Scarlet Begonias by the band Sublime. The Sublime version of the song features the Funky Drummer sample - it was the first time I heard the sample back in the 90s and I loved it then, before I understood that it had such a rich history within the world of sampling. So that part of my comment was more about triggering a positive memory. I feel like your track exists in a completely different universe compared to the original version of Scarlet Begonias, and the cover too apart from the sample, so I can understand the confusion. smile

This made me rave during my coffee break, and now I'm soggy. Totally worth it, though!
