I sort of "floundered" this week on what to do until I played this weird little stringed instrument at a friend's house and luckily had my portable tascam on me to record it. it was sort of a triangular shaped foreign instrument that was in no discernible tuning other than it sounded cool. after practice (was recording some tunes with one of my bands) I pulled the track off the recorder and put it in fl studio and eventually this emerged. ended up sounding like portishead. didn't have long to work on it so it's a little repetitive and it needs vocals, but this is what I came up with late on a saturday night.

I like.

Pretty creepy (in a cinematic way)... Dope drum loop plus bells and noises... Would love to play Silent Hill with this on headphones

I love the instrument. What a great sound - great track too!

I like how you cut your loop. Nice strings too, chaotic, yes, but it all makes sense in your track. Great work!

i think it might be a swedish or other scandinavian instrument... the owner didnt have any idea but the language on it looked so. and thanks for the compliments! was a bit thrown together but sometimes thats the charm.

I love the string sounds. Love hearing people on here being aurally curious. Can't stand hearing the same sounds over and over. thanks!

Really nice textures on this--inspired use of the mystery instrument!

the mystery instrument sort of reminds me of some of the sounds attained on the downward spiral... which i think are a ukelele out of tune

heh

Low down dirty beats and bass work well with the dissonance of the stringed instrument.

damn i wish i had me a tascam smile awesome sound on that stringed instrument and i like that dirty beat crawling throughout with the distant chimey sound in the background.
