lurkers - thirteenth prism

By george bowles on December 29, 2012 6:14 pm

I haven't had much time to work on anything this week, so I am uploading something I recorded at artist Larry Roberts' studio in Chicago, and uploading from their advanced internet network there (pretty paranoid by now I won't be able to upload on time, had something more in depth in mind but I'll share that in the new year). Anyway, disclaimer or whatever aside, this is 3 guitarists (one of whom is me) doing some kind of crazy soundscape. I just picked up the electroharmonix Freeze pedal, which takes a short window of sound and creates an infinite loop. turned out pretty weird. oh yeah, this is called Lurkers and is mainly Larry Roberts project but a member of my band island frequently sits in, and I do occasionally as well as well as other Chicago artists. for this track I'm doing guitar/freeze pedal and drums, and larry and brett are on the other 2 guitars.

Awesome track dude, nice and chill-landscapy smile

This is sweet. Reminds me of some King Crimson/Fripp stuff.

Nice one. Guitar feedback is fun, im constructing a feedback looper at the moment, i would've like to try to complete it before WB finished but life and xmas and Game Of Thrones and being a lazy slob etc etc.

Have a happy new year, i'll prob be in the new year before you though so have a happy new year from the future!!!

great immersive sound. reminds me of the underground areas in portal 2

A nice dose of experimental guitars.  Sounds like fun  smile

thanks y'all!

Oh man, this gives me some serious dystopian vibes.

Raw and haunting. Love how the guitars are audibly in the same room, colliding and resonating with eachother.

thank you for listening! RIP to Larry Roberts who appeared mightily on this track as well, and the rest of the band too. luckily we are all still here except Larry, gone to soon... an amazing painter and his music felt like the audio form of his paintings. my part is the guitar with the freeze pedal on it. his had more delay and echos.
