Stylotron

this week my idea was to use a track using just these two guys. the monotron produces an astonishing amount of sounds for a cheap synthesizer, so it kind of steals the show. I mainly concentrated on using the low end of this little synth, so it supplies the bass and beats, mainly (with a few sound effects thrown in). the stylophone is used more like a keyboard. at the time I purposely left the volume low, so you get some weird line noise (since this synth has a very distinct sound was trying to cover it up a bit I guess). I ended up drowning it in reverb, so it sounds like some weird old horror movie keyboard.

another unique aspect is that I was housesitting for someone, and I brought these over and entertained the cat. not sure if creating in another person's house changes what I did, but it's at least an interesting concept, and part of why I did the small synth only track.

Did the cat appreciate your minimalist lo-fi alternagoth synthcore performance?

I appreciate this track as a homosapien.

I think you might find this useful

. This track fits quite nicely with my week 15 and 13. WB 80s low-budget horror compilation? Nice track.

Cool track!  I like it.     And how good are those cheap korg synths!  Used them in a gig on the weekend even.

they are awesome! love to use them live with the laptop going

for some reason this track makes me think of the whole 'disco volante' album by mr. bungle

Awesome! I  have same stuff so I might do something like this week!

that'd be awesome! wanna do a whole record as a collaboration, we can be called Stylotron??

This is really neat. Very unique sounding. Now I want a stylophone...

thanks yall!!
