Psychic Attack - Be In The Now

this week my focus was on my noise rock/psychedelic improv project Psychic Attack, which is sort of an extension of my old band Island, so there's a lot of past experience and chemistry going on with this band. we had a show Friday night that went really well which inspired me to mix down, edit, and master this track. originally 20 minutes, i essentially lopped off the first 6 and a half minutes and the last 20 seconds of the session. I think there's another session from this night, but I can't find it. so maybe this is all that's survived.

George, are you a professional(ish) musician? Because you seem to have a bajillion projects.

This is really cool. The drumming is really nice. Also really love the low-fi thing.

i am not a pro really, i just have plenty of spare time being that i work part time and don't really have much of a social life. wish i could make money off of it though.

this particular project is an improvisation one, we used to be called island but had a personnel change and changed name to psychic attack. essentially same idea, visual artists who get together to create the weirdest music possible for us. we may not be the most atonal or abstract, but inside of the rock paradigm we do get pretty odd, and improvising decent rock music is kinda hard sometimes. we have tons and tons of stuff recorded. we are already on our 3rd drummer (4th including me who sometimes sits in as well). this isn't one of my two "main" bands but it's a close 3rd, it's just a different style of music (the other bands more traditional, going through a set of material every week then trying to find the time to write new stuff). this one is all new all the time.
