Passing Memories and Fading Dreams

By george bowles on April 19, 2026 3:53 am

after uploading a longer track last week, and mostly doing longform pieces this year, my goal was to make a shorter piece for this week.

I began with downloading some free samples of random things, loosely asssembling them, putting way too many fx on the samples and playing freaky guitar to it (with very light overdrive, jazz amp modeler, through a wampler terraform stereo modulation pedal), took the crazy fx off of the samples, then played some hydrasynth using the broken bass preset, added in a vst instrument: Dexed, the best yamaha dx7 emulator and one of my favorite virtual synths. you'll also hear some subtle latin percussion weaving in and out of the mix giving it a multi-dimensional vibe.

I love the crazy unhinged (in the best way) sound design

thank you! going for super experimental indeed!

Nice. I like it and digging that bass. Sounds a little like an upright
