Immemorial - weeklybeats edit

actually a 20 minute track! it will be uploaded to mixelated.bandcamp.com

this maybe sound like sampling, but there's no samples involved, other than a lofi piano vst. also hydrasynth piano layer. lots of analog plugins and time warping.

theme of memory, time, and mortality, and faulty brains. american amnesia. i wasn't planning on it, but it sounds a lot like the Caretaker meets Third Eye Foundation (two big influences).

i slipped on some ice monday morning and got a little bit of a conc and sore body, so that combined with starting to think about becoming old at 48 years, effected the sound of this. slightly disoriented most of the week.

Caretaker is definitely a good comparison, the vibe is oddly calm and screwy, very interesting composition, pleasant even!  Nice work per usual!

thank you!!

Definitely feeling that same disjointed, anxiety-inducing vibe that Caretaker hits too. It's also fun how certain sounds function as symbols - warbly, lofi piano evokes nostalgia, memory, melancholy so effectively.

absolutely true! Yeah I just kinda got absorbed into that nostalgia vibe. I fed old family photographs into an AI for the image btw.

Perfect concept and results!!

This is a journey. At first when I saw the duration I was worried I'd get tired of the experimental track before it was over. But no! The ebb and flow of it, a certain wabi-sabi quality to it, makes it pleasant discreet music.

I'm glad the composition worked and thank you for your input:)

I really like your music. Ambient music for adults. I will check out the long version. Have a good week.

thank you so much, that means a lot to me! I'm on here because it's tough to get an audience and it also pushes my skills which is what I need, it's almost like a cool online college with peers. Thank you.

What a crazy composition. I love the sound of this a lot! Hope you feel better soon, those concussions are no joke.
