ISLAND - Friday Dub v1b

This week, I had planned on submitting a song for a new electronic music project but events conspired against it (and it turned out to be a rather difficult composition to resolve, so it's on the backburner for another day).

So, what we have here is my band playing over a beat I made on the fly, well, 3 different beat patterns but mainly one beat. We improvised over it, but since it was the first time we tried something like this, the beat ended up overpowering the rest of the music (which you can still hear, but I'd probably would have mixed differently... I just didn't monitor it in the headphones). So, this weeks submission is a bit of a rush job, but without knowing that, I suppose it still sounds pretty cool. I think we will save this beat to improvise over live sometime, which would sound a bit different than this for sure.

I added a post effect that is pretty subtle, so I called it 1b. (already had a lot of effects on it the first time through, but I thought the sideslip vst sounded pretty cool on the master).

industrious enthusiasm!!
