this week, I went out of Chicago to the area where I grew up to visit some family and old friends. So, I decided to take advantage of the very rich sounding environment of western IL just outside of a small city and near an interstate and just a bit further away quad cities airport. Lots of birds chirping with machinery and traffic sounds in the distance. I really liked the sounds that I was able  to record. most of it was in the afternoon but towards the end of the track it is late at night that same day. the idea was to show similarities between some electronic music sounds and environmental sounds. oh yeah, this is also at 40bpm and using the surprisingly natural sounding time signature of 7/12 (also could have fallen under the trance theme). had to trim this down, and it is at 192kbps so it loses some of its luster, but you should still get a great idea of all the sounds.

Wow... this has sat in the background and been wonderful :-)

cool, good to hear smile

first I had to decide if it was just going to be purely a soundscape or not, but I figured it might be a neat trance style track and I'm pretty glad I did put the beats and stuff in there. my favorite part is after the middle when the weird synth comes in that sounds like a buzzing bug in your ear, but it's just

oops last part got cut off, it's just a synth sound with an effect on it

Some really nice sounds in here, I need to get a nice mic so i can get better recordings liek these!

i've always felt soundscapes tend to suffer most from diminished quality, but this'n has bunches of timbres (or textures or whatever) happening; it sounds quite convincing. i like the "natural" theme goin on, and you're right about the 7/12 meter.
