I've been having a lot of fun working on vocals, especially distortions. Trying to produce something is spreading myself a little too thin so in the spirit of keeping a weekly creation and upload in music going, I searched for derivative licenses and picked one to sing over. I came across the track by Mamoriya called Unleashed that was exactly what I was looking for. Some timing, volume, tone issues, and better mixing I'd fix if given more time, warm up better, etc. but this is a fairly accurate representation of my current level in this only with a couple takes at it. Recorded on a phone mic while my son was patiently putting up with my vocal antics and watching a cartoon a few feet away lol.

It's fun to see my comments of ~6mo ago on youtube distortion videos and how much I've learned since then.

Looking forward to a more produced track with nailing the takes, actually writing lyrics and meaning them instead of on the spot cliche words and whatnot. Coming soon. I still have a song that's 90% written I've been sitting on and motivating me vocally since week 1 but can't sing yet and hope to publish before the year is over smile

I love it. In fact, this is very close to what my original vision for this track was when I first sketched it out, though I cannot do vocals to save my life haha. So thanks for bringing this track one step closer to its full potential smile

Thank you! There’s been good weeks and bad weeks, this is somewhere in the middle. Practice continues to move the average up. It’s been a fun journey. I just randomly stumbled into how to do Kargyraa last night playing around lol.

It was a good track to sing over, thanks a lot for the inspiration!! I just realized something went wrong, and I sped it up unintentionally. I think I imported it with flex time on or something, woops! I was wondering what that 32nd note groove was all about, although super cool too haha.

I’ve never heard anyone swing 32nd notes like that but it’s clearly consistent and intentional 🤣. Maybe in trap songs they do stuff like that a lot?
