This week I was really weary, I had a lot of other commitments (including church band!) and my energy was really low, so I couldn't spend much time on this.

I started out by building the main pad sound you can hear at the start (using a method I saw on YouTube) and my thought was to make some old school liquid drum and bass - PS2 stylee. Well... It ended up becoming some ethereal trance! This is the type of music I started out trying to make 25 years ago - I was really into trance music back then. I mean, it was really big in 1999-early 2000s.

So I've come full circle now. Where to next? :]

Enjoy!

Nice one! Your chords are powerful. I love all those major 7ths

Thanks Michael, sometimes I find simple is effective!

I instantly felt the ps2 reverbed-pads. The trace beat is also excellent. Trace is supposedly having a bit of a resurrection at the moment right?

Apparently my phone doesn't want me typing Trance XP

This is killer! I really like that, and I also really deeply empathize with that excitement about making stuff you were interested in and excited about making at the outset—it's a good feeling. Also, shout out to a fellow church band musician! I've taken a bit of a step back over the last couple years (used to lead and play guitar or bass, now just occasionally play guitar).

Also, I misread your bio and was confused for a minute as to what exactly an "amateur Australian" is smile
