Nexus (wkb1)

Hello everyone,

lots have changed for the better and I'm currently in a happy place for music. For the last two months I have been setting up my new "bedroom studio" with a new pc build for recording, producing and livestreaming music. Its a huge jump as my last computer I built was in 2009 and I was using Ableton 7 (which was still good honestly). Now I'm using Ableton 12 with an Akai MPK Mini and I also have a pioneer ddj flx4 for Djing (which I also havn't been able to do in 10 years or so). Glad to be back, kinda rushed this one but here we go to the first little "beat" kinda thing messing with stuff and learning.

Love the texture of this - and glad you’re in a good place! Looking forward to hearing more.

Did the full thing render? It cuts off very abruptly at :58.

Let's go, here's to a great creative journey for 2026!

Arp play is my Jam! chill (slightly haunting) vibe!

Those intro chords are hitting the sweet spot.

These smooth synth sounds are great. Were they difficult to produce?

Thanks Paisleyfrog, I may fall back on some ambient stuff through out the year. I did cut this short on the mixdown, thought I had 1min looped but didnt.

Thanks Cakes smile Im working to strengthen my chords, its my weak point. Ill be looking back on this one at the end of year to see how far I've come.

Much appreciated Danju, These are synths with presets in Ableton 12. They were not difficult to produce, I used an akai mpk mini to control the parameters of the synth and hit record. The hard part was choosing the chords.

nice intro for your wb26!

Hopefully I will complete this year! It's a tall order. Thanks george bowles

I'm welcoming back for another year, straight from the future (week 6).

Boy, this is one of the finest intros I've heard in Weeklybeats this year. You NEED to re-render this one and give it a proper tail, so it can be send to a huge 3/16th delay and be played over the first four to the floor of the night smile

Extra KUDOS for the Ableton 7 respect. I still use Ableton 8 and do most of my stuff on 10 (I own 11, but my main setup is not that powerful to run it ... and I'm not missing much, IMO).

Looking forward to another year of your productions.

This was only just something to submit right after I had Ableton running and trying new instruments with my new midi, but it did sound pretty cool. I do promise I will revisit this and finish it. Originally it had a 4x4 beat but it was cheesy, we'll see If it works down the road. Thanks Laguna
